Movies, popcorn, reading fun for Siegburg-area students

Germany

Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Siegwerk is committed to many local charity projects, including the Summer Reading Club (SLC).

Children and young people from the Siegburg area celebrated the end of the city library's Summer Reading Club with movies, popcorn, and drinks. A total of 508 young bookworms took part in the project and eagerly collected stamps in their logbooks during the summer holidays.

Nearly 3,400 books, comics, and audiobooks were borrowed. Series for early readers such as The School of Magical Animals,  The Three Investigators Kids, and others were popular with the young readers. Older readers mainly opted for comic books and youth thrillers.

The GGS Hans Alfred Keller School with its nearby Deichhaus and Zange locations was named the most avid reading elementary schools. Another award went to class 6a at Alleestraße High School, which won the title “Summer Reading Club Class 2025” with 20 participating students. The most beautiful logbooks  received book vouchers, certificates, and medals.
