Sustainability

We take responsibility in everything we do.

As a family-run company with an extensive history, we have long been aware of our responsibility toward future generations. Guided by tradition yet driven by innovation, we are fully committed to making a positive and responsible contribution to society and the environment.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do — from the sourcing of our materials to the development of pioneering, eco-friendly packaging solutions. We strive to maintain a careful balance between ecological, social, and economic priorities, ensuring we meet today’s needs without compromising the resources of tomorrow.

Our overarching goal is to evolve into a truly circular and digitally advanced packaging solutions company, shaping the future of packaging through smart design, responsible production, and lasting partnerships. Together with our stakeholders, we aim to create value that endures — for people, the planet, and the generations to come.

HorizonNOW 2030

Our sustainability agenda

Siegwerk has launched HorizonNOW 2030, the next phase of its long‑term sustainability agenda. Building on the HorizonNOW strategy introduced in 2021, the updated program sets new, ambitious and measurable goals to be achieved by 2030—further anchoring sustainability as a core pillar of the company’s overall business strategy.

Embedding Sustainability Across the Entire Value Chain

With HorizonNOW 2030, Siegwerk systematically integrates sustainability across procurement, operations and product innovation. The company’s strategic ambition is clear: to become the leading enabler of sustainable packaging worldwide. The value proposition “sustainable packaging enabled by Siegwerk” positions the company as a partner of choice for customers aiming to accelerate their own sustainability transformation.

At the heart of HorizonNOW 2030 lies Siegwerk’s commitment to driving sustainability throughout the entire value chain. The agenda is structured around three strategic areas, each supported by concrete, measurable goals to be reached by 2030.

Siegwerk contributes directly to six SDGs to guide Siegwerk’s sustainable business strategy. The contribution to each SDG is outlined below.

Sustainable Procurement

Our focus on supplier training, transparency, and collaboration

Siegwerk anchors sustainable procurement as a key part of its HorizonNOW agenda, aiming to reduce environmental and human rights risks across its supply chain. Through its global program SustainUP, the company focuses on supplier training, transparency, and collaboration to drive measurable improvements. The program supports key targets such as reducing Scope 3 emissions by 25% by 2030 and strengthening human rights due diligence. By engaging suppliers through webinars, workshops, and continuous assessment tools, Siegwerk transforms procurement from a compliance exercise into a partnership model that builds a more resilient and responsible supply chain.
