Siegwerk supports education project to restock salmon in Sieg river near German headquarters

As part of its local Corporate Social Responsibility activites in Siegburg supports the local Wasserlauf (water course) Foundation which introduces small salmon into the Sieg river with the support of youngsters from area schools.
The salmon sponsorship program included four area school classes One group was from the Hans Alfred Keller located in Siegburg.
The children had the opportunity to be involved in several activities include a quiz about salmon. The children learned about the salmon life cycle and the local fishing station and fishing tools at various stations. The environmental working group from provided refreshments including snacks, tea and coffee.
The annual restocking of salmon is part of the migratory fish program, which aims to re-establish migratory fish like salmon in native waters. Siegwerk has been a sponsor of the Stiftung Wasserlauf's salmon sponsorship program for several years now.
The program is not just about theory. The children have the opportunity to lend a hand in releasing thousands of small salmon into the river.
