Siegwerk Buedingen sponsors local soccer club

Germany

Today, the role of a sports club no longer consists just training its young players. Rather, sports clubs now take on educational tasks and responsibility far into social life. Buedingen, Germany’s Seemenbach Tiger youth sports club (JSG) is a good example of both building strong players and strengthening young lives.

At JSG Seemenbach Tigers, all players, regardless of their footballing talent, are equally encouraged and integrated in a family atmosphere.  The new immigrant children who have arrived in Buedingen due to the war in Ukraine, have found support, friends and fun with the JSG Seemenbach Tigers. The development of personality and the teaching of social values such as helpfulness, honesty, a sense of responsibility are just as important as sports training.

The Siegwerk Buedingen team, as part of their local Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, has supported these commendable principles of the soccer club with its sponsorship in 2023. The sponsorship money helped to equip the team with new tracksuits.

Now the Siegwerk tracksuits have finally been handed over. Jessica Hamann, Head of HR, Siegwerk Buedingen and Andreas Schmidt, Chairman of the Works Council, Siegwerk Buedingen were able to meet the Tigers and were rewarded with beaming children's eyes after the handover. The training suits were accompanied by a small surprise bag of healthy snacks for the young players.  Martin Gundlach, coach of the Seemenbach Tigers, added that intensive youth and club work would not be possible without the support of the local companies such as Siegwerk.
