Siegwerk China partners with BASF on a fun art class for local special needs children

On October 18, Siegwerk China, together with its upstream core supplier BASF China, successfully hosted a love and care event in the Xinzhuang Industrial Zone where Siegwerk’s Shanghai site is located. The event was called "Vivid Sunshine, Ink-spired Care" and centered on supporting vulnerable children, also called "Sunshine Kids", in the industrial zone. The activity upholds Siegwerk’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) tradition of focusing on community engagement and caring for disadvantaged groups, especially underprivileged youth. Two companies pooled public welfare resources to demonstrate their shared commitment to social responsibility.

During the event, volunteers from both companies designed three creative sessions called: "Magic Floating Pen," "Colorful Fan Marbling," and "Freestyle Graffiti" by using eco-safe, water-based ink as the creative medium. These activities helped the expressive-challenged Sunshine Kids open up and unleash their bold creativity. The children captured joy through their brushstrokes and experienced how "colors can speak." 

The event achieved the goal of kids having fun and parents feeling at ease. To reciprocate the volunteers’ support, the Sunshine Kids presented an exclusive concert at the end, featuring band performances, poetry readings and more, demonstrating their desire for communication and recognition. Volunteers from Siegwerk and BASF also gave the children gifts such as school bags, ink, brushes, and sketchbooks, hoping these items will continue to accompany them on their artistic exploration journey.

This alliance with BASF enabled efficient integration of public welfare resources, creating a 1+1 is greater than 2 brand synergy effect that highlighted the positive energy of supporting vulnerable groups to society. The event received strong support from relevant authorities of the Xinzhuang Industrial Zone. It not only brought warmth and growth opportunities to the Sunshine Kids, helping them build confidence and integrate into the community, but also injected corporate warmth by fostering a harmonious and caring community environment.
