Colors are passion, emotions and personality. At Siegwerk, inks and coatings are our specialty and we use color to bring the packaging and products of our customers to life.
We are excited to announce that on August 6, the Siegwerk China Charity Committee (SCCC) held its very first kick-off meeting at the Shanghai site. More than a dozen employee-representatives from every function sat down together to take the driver’s seat in shaping Siegwerk China’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) roadmap.
From “management decides” to “we decide”
In the past, CSR initiatives in China were mostly driven by the company. With the Charity Committee, ownership shifts to all employees through elected representatives. Whether you have an idea for a weekend river-clean-up, voluntary donations to a nursing home or a charity run, the SCCC is the place to pitch it, plan it and make it happen.
Our enduring focus: children and youth
Siegwerk’s CSR DNA has always been about supporting children and young people from vulnerable backgrounds to successfully managing the transition into independent life. The new committee will keep this focus while bringing fresh energy and diversity to every initiative.
What we just kicked off: July 2025 Summer Internship
Last month, in partnership with the Shanghai Publishing and Printing College (SPPC), Siegwerk China welcomed five SPPC students for a 5-8-week immersive placement in the Sheetfed, Narrow Web, Quality Control and Maintenance teams. The official launch on July 14, at our Shanghai plant, brought together interns, line managers and SPPC faculty. We trust that those young people could not only get real-world skills and new friendships, but also rational career guidance during the summer internship.
Coming next: October 2025 Special-Children Day with BASF
Mark your calendars! On 18 October 18, Siegwerk China will team up with BASF to host a love and care event for vulnerable children in the neighborhood where Siegwerk China is located. The Charity Committee is co-designing various experiences full of discovery and connection for the children to learn something new, create handcrafts and demonstrate their own artwork. Volunteers are welcome, and you can invest money or time – or both..
Together, let’s turn compassion into action - bottom-up, employee-driven and children and youth-focused.
