Colors are passion, emotions and personality. At Siegwerk, inks and coatings are our specialty and we use color to bring the packaging and products of our customers to life.
Recently members of the Siegwerk China Sustainability Committee, along with colleagues from Product Safety Responsibility (PSR) and the Global Analytic Network (GAN) China and the Global HR team, visited the Junior Middle School of the number two High School Affiliated with East China Normal University. The team, including Sharon Pan, Head of PSR & GAN, China; Grace Ge, Assistant to the Managing Director; Vicky Xu, Chemist; and Candy Han, Global HR Compensation and Benefits; engaged with the students through an interactive chemistry magic show. Using chemical reagents, the Siegwerk colleagues created mesmerizing color changes that captured the students' attention and sparked their curiosity about science and its role in promoting sustainability. The students were eager to learn more and actively participated in the demonstrations.
Following the magic show, Xu led an interactive Q&A session, asking thought-provoking questions about sustainability and encouraging students to think about applying Circular Economy principles in their daily lives. The students were highly inquisitive, raising their hands to ask questions and share their ideas. To make the session more engaging, Han organized a prize giveaway for the best answers, creating an atmosphere filled with excitement and enthusiasm. The event concluded with students actively participating in discussions and demonstrating their newfound understanding of environmental protection.
This outreach event had a lasting impact on the students, planting seeds of environmental consciousness in their young minds. The students' enthusiasm and eagerness to learn about sustainability were evident, and it is hoped that this experience will inspire them to become the next generation of environmental stewards.
