Siegwerk Guatemala builds on YouthCan! partnership with SOS Children’s Villages

In Guatemala, Siegwerk begins its third year as a partner in the YouthCan! program – SOS Children’s Villages mentoring program aimed at disadvantaged young adults. The country joins Argentina, Colombia and Vietnam in working together to create better employment opportunities for youths in need in their regions. Across Guatemala,  poverty and social exclusion are two of the most important issues facing young adults living at the SOS facilities there.

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, online training has taken the lead. Siegwerk volunteers help the youths prepare themselves for the workplace with themes relevant to the work at the company. Last year, the online mentoring sessions included workshops about Circular Economy and online training on different aspects of  printing. The ultimate goal of the YouthCan! program is to help new jobseekers build their skills to allow them to secure stable and fulfilling employment.

In 2021, 12 Siegwerk volunteers helped 62 young people.
