Colors are passion, emotions and personality. At Siegwerk, inks and coatings are our specialty and we use color to bring the packaging and products of our customers to life.
In order to give continuity to the commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) actions with SOS Children's Villages, Siegwerk Mexico has started participating in the YouthCan! program aimed at providing young adults the skills they need to prepare for the future. Specifically, the program focuses on employability, as well as for their preparation for their integration into society through a mentoring program.
During the month of September, a group of young people from the SOS Children's Village visited Siegwerk’s facilities in Toluca, Mexico. This experience allowed them to learn about the operation of the company, explore the production processes, see the facilities and, most importantly, establish an initial face-to-face contact with their mentors who will accompany them for the next six months.
Throughout this period, online and face-to-face mentoring sessions will be held designed to guide the youngsters in exploring their personal interests, identifying activities they are passionate about, and recognising their key competencies and skills.
Prior to the start of the program, Siegwerk mentors participated in three training sessions, where fundamental topics such as safety, ethics and the proper treatment of young people were addressed. These sessions provided them with tools to offer empathetic, respectful and effective accompaniment.
The Siegwerkers in Mexico wish to thank the SOS Children's Villages for their commitment to youth development, as well as all the mentors for their proactivity and initiative to support this transformative and valuable project.
