On August 9, Siegwerk Vietnam marked a significant milestone in its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) by hosting a heartfelt celebration for the 15th anniversary of its partnership with SOS Children’s Village Ben Tre. Themed "Trao Yêu Thương – Nhận Nụ Cười" (Sharing Love – Receiving Smiles), the event brought together Siegwerk employees, volunteers, and the children and staff of the village for a day filled with joy, games, and meaningful connections.
Held at the SOS Children’s Village in Ben Tre Province, this charity program not only honored Siegwerk’s long-standing collaboration but also reinforced the company’s commitment to supporting vulnerable children and fostering community development.
The day began early as a group of enthusiastic Siegwerk volunteers departed from Ho Chi Minh City. The team had reached the village at 1:00 pm, where they split into groups: one to assist with stage decoration and another to prepare the game stations. This hands-on involvement from the start highlighted the collaborative spirit between Siegwerk and SOS staff.
The official program kicked off at 2:00 pm with a warm welcome ceremony. The children from SOS Village opened the event with an energetic dance and song performance, setting a vibrant tone. from the Siegwerk master of ceremonies greeted the audience, introducing dignitaries including representatives from Siegwerk Vietnam and SOS Village leadership.
In his opening speech, the Director of SOS Children’s Village Ben Tre, Nguyen Van Bay reflected on the past 15 years, emphasizing how Siegwerk's unwavering support has transformed the lives of countless children. Siegwerk's representative, Pham Thi Bao Tran, the Entity Manager, in turn, expressed pride in the partnership and reaffirmed our commitment to social impact. A key highlight was the presentation of gifts to the village: two water filter cores, symbolizing our focus on sustainable health and well-being. Group photos captured the moment, with smiles all around.
In the afternoon, the event shifted to outdoor activities, turning the village grounds into a playground of fun and teamwork. Five individual game stations were set up, each designed to encourage creativity, agility, and participation.
As the afternoon progressed, group games ramped up the excitement. Divided into eight random teams, participants tackled "Nối Vòng Tay Chéo" (Untangle the Crossed Arms), "Chuyền Vòng Qua Người" (Pass the Hoop Through Bodies), and "Kéo Co" (Tug-of-War). Wrapping up the games on schedule in the laughter continued unabated.
The evening gala dinner and campfire began under the village's dome area.Cultural performances followed, with SOS children delivering heartfelt songs and dances. A defining highlight of the event was Lâm Long Hội’s heartfelt performance of Nơi Ấy Con Tìm Về (That’s My Way Back Home). This soul-stirring rendition moved Siegwerk staff, and village caregivers to tears. The performance’s emotional resonance drew an outpouring of connection, as children and adults alike rushed to the stage, joining in the rhythm and lyrics. This was a powerful testament to the nurturing spirit that binds us all in supporting these young lives.
Gifts were distributed which included Siegwerk-logoed thermal bottles for those completing the games, five cashew nut sets for creative wishes, five refurbished laptops for academic encouragement, and five snack hampers for team winners. Children and SOS mothers shared reflections, expressing gratitude for the day's warmth and Siegwerk's ongoing support.
A campfire brought the evening to a close with farewell hugs and promises of future collaborations being shared amongst everyone.
This celebration is a testament to Siegwerk's values of compassion and community. Over 15 years, the Siegwerk Vietnam team has contributed to the village's family houses, youth dorms, kindergarten, school, and vocational workshops, helping children thrive. Many alumni now lead independent lives, as a direct result of Siegwerk’s support.
As we look ahead, Siegwerk remains committed to sustaining this bond, planning more visits and support. Pham closed by saying, “a big thank you to all volunteers and participants - your energy made this day unforgettable.”
