Siegwerk Philippines: Empowering the Future

Philippines

Nonabelle Tablada is Head of Finance and HR at Siegwerk Philippines. Together with her colleagues and in cooperation with SOS Children’s Villages Philippines, she organized the Youth Summit 2024 as part of the YouthCan! program. The motto: “Championing Youth Empowerment and Giving Hope a Chance”. In the article, she tells us why the event was a valuable experience for everyone involved.

In late September 2024, I had the privilege of joining the Youth Summit, a joint initiative by SOS Children’s Villages Philippines and Siegwerk Philippines. The three-day event focused on youth empowerment through raising awareness of mental health, providing leadership training, and helping with career development. On the final day, my colleagues and I led sessions on career planning, resume writing, and job interviews, followed by interactive workshops and simulations.

This initiative not only equipped the youth with essential career skills but also fostered a stronger, more capable local community. By providing them with the tools to succeed, we helped shape a future workforce that is resilient, driven, and hopeful – ready to contribute meaningfully to society.

Beyond its impact on the participants, this experience also enriched me personally. Witnessing the determination and gratitude of the young people deepened my commitment to mentorship and community engagement, reminding me that empowering others is a path to personal growth.

I am convinced: Investing in youth today creates stronger communities and a brighter tomorrow!
