Colors are passion, emotions and personality. At Siegwerk, inks and coatings are our specialty and we use color to bring the packaging and products of our customers to life.
Kaldauer Elementary School, located near the Siegwerk′s Siegburg site, wrote to the company directly, asking for support of the “NRW* Plants” initiative. Siegwerk responded to the request and is participating in the campaign, setting a fine example of sustainable business practices and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Through this commitment, Siegwerk enables elementary school students to participate in protecting forests and preserving threatened areas by planting trees. The campaign is funded by donations from companies, parents, and school staff. To date, 240 trees have been planted, representing a quarter of the target goal. The students have set a goal of planting 1,000 new trees in Siegburg, including beech and oak trees, as well as other species that can withstand climate change.
Education and awareness-raising are also central to the initiative. Before the Easter break, 70 children participated in engaging learning activities as part of a special school campaign day, supported and motivated by Germany′s ROBIN GUT Foundation.
The planting campaign will continue through the fall. Through this initiative, Siegwerk is providing practical support for the forest and strengthening its local responsibility and commitment to sustainability.
