Siegwerk: Trendsetting innovations at Labelexpo 2009
Siegwerk has become the first printing ink manufacturer to develop flexographic and screenprint inks for the new UV technology employing LED-UV curing lamps, the new high-intensity semiconductor UV light source. The main advantages are: significant energy savings and elimination of any air exhaustion since no ozone is generated during the drying process.
Other innovations being shown by Siegwerk are the UV flexographic series SICURA FLEX 39-8 and the UV offset series SICURA PLAST LO. Although totally new to the market, both series are rapidly becoming major sales successes because they are perfectly tailored to the needs of high-speed production plants.
For labels in the foodstuffs sector, Siegwerk is exhibiting a complete programme of low migration inks that enable the printer to comply with the forthcoming regulations for foodstuffs packaging.
