The National Cup of the Dragon Boat race took place on the lake of the Retiro park, in the heart of Madrid. The race is a Corporate Social Responsibility event to benefit cancer survivors.
This is a traditional Chinese boat race, with teams of 12 (or 22) rowers, who compete in several categories, including BCS (breast cancer survivors) and ACS (all cancers survivors). This is a great activity for improving quality of life and allows for the inclusion of crew members of all ages, genders ,and health condition. It is also a sporty competition that is fun for the participants and the audience.
This spectacular event brought a lot of attention from the media before and during the weekend. More than 700 racers from across Spain participated in the event. The Siegwerk logo was even seen on the local television when team members were interviewed.
The “Siegwerk” teams both delivered an excellent performance taking home the bronze and silver medals. The employees of Siegwerk Spain were proud to be a part of this great initiative and they wish the racers luck in the future competitions.
