Siegwerk Singapore supports area charities with Walk the Extra Mile with Me Walkathon

Singapore

The Children's Charities Association of Singapore (CCA) organised a fundraising event on October 28 for its member charities. They have the common objective of helping physically, mentally and socially disadvantaged children. The funds donated will be used to educate, train and assist the children under their care to become independent and contributing citizens who can play their own roles in the society and building of the nation. The six CCA member charities are:

1. Singapore Children’s Society
2. Singapore Association for the Deaf
3. Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore
4. Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore
5. St. Andrew’s Mission Hospital
6. Association for Persons with Special Needs

In addition to fundraising, the CCA also arranges for children and families to participate in the Walk the Extra Mile with me walkathon. Most of the employees of Siegwerk and their family members took active interest and participated in the Walkathon fundraising event.  Children from the member charities also performed at the opening ceremony with a song and dance show.

In order to mitigate the hardships suffered by the children and to help with the fundraising, a cash donation was handed over to the center in recognition of the Siegwerkers participation. A token of appreciation was given to Siegwerk by the Patron of the charities, Ms. Jane Ittogi (the First Lady of Singapore). Entity Manager, Rajiv Singh received the gift from the First Lady. The total amount donated by Siegwerk Singapore was SGD 6,000 (EUR 4,100). The money went towards the fund-raising drive organized by the charity.
