Siegwerk Indonesia CSR program supports workers without access to social security benefits

Indonesia

PT Siegwerk Indonesia, in collaboration with the Social Security Administration for workers, financed the participation of the social security payments of 50 non-formal workers (non-wage earners such as construction workers, small traders, online drivers, others with no access to social security benefits) living near the Gandasari Village, Jatiuwung sub-district, Tangerang. This program will continue for two years and will be reviewed at the end of this time.

Workers’ social security is mandatory for formal workers. Now a new program has been launched for non-formal worker to cover work-related-accidents, death and old age pensions for these vulnerable workers.

Represented by Achmad Machsudi, Siegwerk Indonesia Country Director and the local management of Siegwerk Indonesia, the handover of social security membership for 50 non-formal workers took place on June 15. The handover was attended by the Deputy Director Banten of the Social Security Administration for workers, and the Siegwerk team.

With this program, Siegwerk Indonesia hopes to make a real contribution to Siegwerkers not currently covered by social security in the company. The hope is that SIegwerk can inspire other businesses in the community to participate in the same program thereby helping more members of the community. This program embodies the principals of Siegwerk Indonesia's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
