Siegwerk supports  families and victims of the February 6 earthquake.

On February 6, two violent earthquakes and a series of aftershocks, killed more than 17,000 people and injured tens of thousands and caused widespread destruction in south eastern Türkiye and northern Syria. The number of dead is expected to increase rapidly in the coming days.

While the earthquake did not directly damage Siegwerk’s facilities, and we have gotten confirmation that our local Siegwerkers and their families living in the impacted area are all accounted for. The devastation from the earthquakes is wide spread. Friends and extended family of the Siegwerk Türkiye team have, in some instances, suffered losses.

To support those in need in Türkiye, Siegwerk Türkiye has donated EUR 70,000. Working with the AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority), Siegwerk’s donation will be directed to those hardest hit by the disaster. In addition, employees of Siegwerk Türkiye have also made personal donations to those in need.

Türkiye ranks third in the world in terms of earthquake-related casualties and eighth with regard to the total number of people affected. Every year, the country experiences at least one magnitude five earthquake – which renders the proper management and coordination of disasters absolutely crucial.
