Siegwerk Brazil organizes actions in support of the Yellow September campaign for suicide prevention

September 10 is officially World Suicide Prevention Day. To mark this day and work on suicide prevention, the “Yellow September” campaign was created in 2013 to address the issue throughout the month. This is one of the largest anti-stigma campaigns in the world. In 2024, the campaign’s motto is “If you need help, ask for it!”
In 2024, aligned with our Engagement Survey Siegwerk´s Heartbeat Action Plan, the month of September was named “Mental Health Month” at Siegwerk Brazil. The HR team created a calendar of actions that support this important campaign to inform and also offer alternatives for the well-being of employees and their mental health.
• The site’s enjoy space, where employees can relax, was renovated and now has a solidarity library;
• Employees received a gift with motivational phrases, encouraging them to relieve the stress of everyday life;
• A webinar on mental health was held on September 11;
• A webinar on living psychology was held on September 20.
“At Siegwerk we really care about our employee´s mental health, so Yellow September is the perfect opportunity to remind them about the importance of this topic, and more than that, to give them tools and information to support themselves and their beloved ones,” said Paola Rodrigues, HR Manager Brazil and Latam South.
The topic of suicide is still seen as taboo in society as a whole. Siegwerk Brazil believes that talking about the subject is important because it is impossible to predict when someone is going through a difficult time, but it is possible to be open to welcoming and providing support to those who need it.
