Siegwerk supports area disabled children’s organization as sponsor of the annual duck race

Germany

Jugendbehindertenhilfe (aid for disabled young people) Siegburg/Rhein-Sieg e.V. (JBH) hosted their  12th annual duck race this year with an innovative new live digital format.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the popular duck race was canceled in 2020. In light of the ongoing pandemic, this year’s organizers decided against throwing a large party that would attract many spectators to the area. Instead, a live video broadcast of the competition, which took place on the premises of the Veronika Keller Kinderburg kindergarten, was organized for the event.

During the live broadcast, which anyone interested could view on YouTube, pre-school children from both JBH daycare centers fished yellow ducks out of the pools set-up for them. The selected ducks were placed in front of the camera with their respective numbers. Anyone who had bought a sponsor card before knew immediately what prize they had won. A total of 100 prizes worth around 8,300 euros were raffled off.

"Since 2015, JBH has been the partner of choice for the children of Siegwerk employees. What’s special about JBH is their professionalism, paired with love for all children – disabled or healthy – allowing them to grow up together in a protected environment," said Aleka Heinrich, Assistant to Siegwerk’s President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of JBH.

Siegwerk is a long-standing supporter of JBH and the great work this organization does in the community.
