Siegwerk USA & Canada announces price increase for packaging and label inks

Siegwerk USA & Canada announces price increase for packaging and label inks

Due to ongoing raw material cost increases experienced throughout the ink industry, Siegwerk is forced to implement price increases on its packaging inks in the U.S. and Canada. Effective January 1, 2012, all packaging and label inks will be increased on average 6%. Increases will vary according to technology.

2011 has been a challenging year for Siegwerk and the entire ink industry due to unprecedented raw material increases.  Price pressures on some raw materials have lessened in the second half of 2011; however, significant increases remain in targeted raw materials including, but not limited to, Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) and Nitrocellulose (NC).

“Siegwerk continues to work on internal efficiencies; however, Siegwerk is determined to remain a quality supplier,” states Dr. Ansgar Nonn, president NAFTA region.  Globally, Siegwerk will maintain its position as a quality supplier guaranteeing the highest standards, and will not compromise on product safety.  Nonn continues, “Siegwerk appreciates its customers’ patience and flexibility during this difficult year.  As we enter 2012, our continued value-added services coupled with a quality product are what will keep both Siegwerk and its customers moving forward.”
