Siegwerk confirms acquisition of ACTEGA Colorchemie
Competition authorities approved Siegwerk’s planned acquisition effective from April 30, 2016
Siegwerk Druckfarben AG & Co. KGaA, one of the leading international suppliers of printing inks for packaging applications, labels, and catalogs, has received approval by the competition authorities to acquire the printing ink manufacturer ACTEGA Colorchemie GmbH and its subsidiaries. The latter company, which until now belonged to ALTANA’s ACTEGA Coatings & Sealants division, develops and manufactures water-based flexo printing inks, particularly for printing on corrugated board packaging.
With the closing of the acquisition effective from April 30, 2016, ACTEGA Colorchemie and its approximately 140 employees and four European sites will become part of the Siegwerk family. Going forward, the new company sites will be operating under Siegwerk‘s corporate brand. Details of the planned change of name will be announced shortly.
By this acquisition, Siegwerk is once again expanding its packaging printing offer. The aim is to bundle the strengths of the two companies and to bring together their technological competence and strong service orientation. By integrating the products of ACTEGA Colorchemie into its portfolio, the global printing ink manufacturer can target the needs of its customers even more effectively.
Customers of ACTEGA Colorchemie will continue to be serviced by their established contacts in sales and technical support.
