Interpack 2014: Siegwerk counts on SAVE FOOD

Totally in line with the objectives of the SAVE FOOD initiative Siegwerk presents itself at Interpack 2014. “Siegwerk is fully committed to SAVE FOOD as acting sustainably is a priority for us,” explains Bettina Horenburg, Director Corporate Communications of the no. 3 printing ink manufacturer worldwide.

“Safe Food and food protection is one of our biggest global challenges today – and food packaging plays an instrumental role,” says Jörg-Peter Langhammer, Vice President Global HSE + Sustainability. "As a globally recognized leader for safe packaging ink solutions, our decision to join the initiative was a very conscious one.”

Since the foundation of the company in 1830 the family-owned business stands for social engagement, ecological consciousness and economic thinking, closely connected to the company values. Siegwerk concentrates on environmentally friendly ink solutions and consultancy in favor of consumer protection and food safety – all along the entire value-added chain.

Already, 90 % of all Siegwerk inks contain renewable raw materials. One example is Tempo Nutripack, a conventional offset ink series, fully based on vegetable oils. With its global research network, Siegwerk is constantly working to increase the share of renewable raw materials in all its products.

Several social projects, environmental and work safety programs round off Siegwerk’s activities under the umbrella of the company’s sustainability policy.

More details will be provided by the Siegwerk contacts in the InnovationParc Packaging (FG/IPP23).
