Siegwerk’s Siegburg site presents local Youth Disability Aid Association (JBH) with a donation of EUR 2,500

Germany

It was with great joy that Hans Hüngsberg, first Chairman of the Youth Disabled Aid (JBH) Siegburg Rhein-Sieg, accepted a donation check of EUR 2,500 from employees of Siegwerk in Siegburg. Florian Hansen, Flexible Packaging Operational Excellence and Hans Biermann, Head of Maintenance, Siegburg site service visited the Veronika Keller children’s school and got an impression of the day-to-day work at the daycare center before they presented the donation. Also in attendance were Specialist Management, Petra Opschondek and the Facility Managers, Nina Heep-Mercurio and Nadine Roth.

“This wonderful financial support is intended for both preschools,” said Hans Hüngsberg. The money goes towards the theater project that the preschool children from the two daycare centers perform every year. There are also plans to increase the technology for the demonstrations. “Some of the children have quite delicate voices, so we can procure good microphones so that everyone can play at the same level. For this to work, we have to lay the foundations,” said Opschondek.

The amount came about through a spring cleaning campaign with the help of around 30 Siegburg employees. “We cleared out the spare parts warehouse and scrapped the scrap metal that was no longer needed. The proceeds from the campaign were then given equally to charitable organizations, one of which is the JBH,” explained Hansen.

Hüngsberg warmly thanked the guests and reminded them of their connection to the company: “If the Keller family didn’t exist, JBH (the Youth Disability Aid Association) wouldn’t exist.”
