Des Moines fights for hunger again this year!

United States

On the mornings of August 29 and 30, several employees from the Des Moines, Iowa, facility volunteered to do various activities to help Meals from the Heartland (MFTH) complete their largest volunteer packaging event of the year. MFTH prepared around five million meals over the course of the four day event.

Siegwerk has volunteered since 2015, donating time to meal packing every third Friday of the month, in addition to supporting this large, community event. This year, as in prior years, we had our trusty Pack Masters, who train the packers coming to the event and manage the tables. We also have our fantastic Box Makers, who build the boxes that the meals will be shipped in. Lastly, we have helpers who make sure each table has enough supplies during their meal packing shift.

In addition to the volunteer time by our employees, Siegwerk was a Silver Sponsor for the event this year, donating money to help pay for the meals packed by military personnel who participated in the event.  All the ink printed on the MFTH bags is donated by Siegwerk as well.

Siegwerk Des Moines is looking forward to continuing its do volunteer work and donating to MFTH throughout the rest of this year.
