Fitness and sport activities bring family and friends together at Siegwerk Malaysia

Malaysia

The Kiwanis Charity Run for Kids drew more than 1,300 participants. About 140 participants (including Siegwerk employees, family members and friends) joined the Kiwanis Charity Run 818 at Eco Business Park 1 in Johor Bahru. The run was organized by the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Center in Johor Bahru.

Siegwerk Malaysia empowers its employees by motivating and encouraging all Siegwerkers to participate in the 5 km fun run. It was a great opportunity to build relationships, improve fitness and reach goals together all the while raising funds to support the needs of local children with Down syndrome.

All runners enjoyed live entertainment, free chocolate milk drinks and a medal for finishing the event.

About Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation (KDSF)
The Johor Bahru Center was opened in September 1991 and was the second facility of its kind under the KDSF. The incremental enrollment of children over the years has signaled the need for the center’s expansion. The Management Committee of KDSF-JB Centre managed to obtain a building of its own in 2006.

Each Down Syndrome Center is overseen by a management committee, which is headed by a Chairman and includes selected members of the Kiwanis Club that raises funds for that center. The Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation manages five facilities for children with Down syndrome. The Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation is committed to the welfare of children with Down syndrome, its main focus being the education of children up to six years of age.
