was what the German auto accessories manufacturer ATU wanted for its customer magazine. Even at a glance, readers needed to see the quality of the products on display – and since the Siegwerk experts always enjoy a challenge, they were happy to oblige.
To enhance the looks of the print product and encourage people to browse, they developed a gloss varnish specially for use in heatset sheetfed offset printing.
When the ATU team saw the proof sheet, the unmatched quality of the new solution impressed them at once. So did the speed with which Siegwerk developed it.

A sensual experience ...
for eyes and noses is what cosmetics manufacturer AVON wished to offer its customers. That posed a real challenge for their printer, because the product brochure had to use the heatset procedure, where very high drying temperatures render conventional aroma coatings useless.
The Siegwerk experts came up with a coating whose micro-encapsulated aromas survive the print process intact, and are released only when readers rub or scratch the surface. The resulting solution surprised not just the printing team, but readers too: fragrant printing.

Staying power ...
is what the surface of the collector’s album for the European Championship 2008 needed to have. Because in addition to frequent handling by youthful fans, the portraits of the well-known soccer players had to withstand damage during printing, too.
In just a few weeks, the Siegwerk experts developed a solution for this special application on extremely heavy paper stock: PERMEC. This ink range provides maximum rub-resistance without the need to compromise on color quality.
