Taft Power Styling Water by Schwarzkopf

A seductive, cool metallic sheen ...
was needed for the spray bottle labels for this new hair styling lotion. This posed a real challenge for our client, the Rako Group.
First they tried hot-foil stamping, which gave a metallic effect, but could not be overprinted in flexoprint.
After countless test runs in the Rako print room, the patience of the Siegwerk experts finally paid off. The sheen now comes from the high-gloss silver of  Innova series, which is then overprinted with flexo ink Sicura Flex 39-8, enriched with special additives. Even the Rako managers were surprised by the results – not to mention the production savings achieved by not having to emboss.

Mövenpick ice cream

Ice cold temptation ...
is what Mövenpick promises – and the company expects packaging printers to make sure the temptation starts with the labels and packaging.
Working in close consultation with the Swiss label manufacturer Permapack, the Siegwerk experts sought a solution that would meet these high requirements. The result was a silicone-free flexoprint series called Sicura Flex 39-9P SF. The series significantly reduces the odor associated with UV printing, and also keeps migration to a minimum. Its outstanding properties have been confirmed by specialist institutes, and now offer Permapack convincing sales arguments in talks with food manufacturers.

Label for Underberg digestive bottle

Small but unmistakable …
is how Underberg likes its products to look, so label specialists Rako wanted an embossed effect for their customer’s logo. Since this would not have been cost efficient, the Siegwerk experts came up with a better idea: a solution based on UV flexo printing, followed by a silkscreen coating. Rako found the combination of Sicura Flex 39-8 and Sicura Screen 78-3 extremely appetizing, as did their client Underberg, the maker of the herbal digestive liqueur.

Double Cream by Robert Wiseman

Safe and appetizing ...
is how these cream pots needed to look in the supermarket. That was a challenge not only for the designer but also for the UK printer Systems Labelling, who had to minimize the odor tendencies associated with UV printing, and also make sure the labels would be suitable for in-mould processing further downstream.
That explains why the Siegwerk experts, together with manufacturer Robert Wiseman’s own printers, put in quite a few weekends before they found the right solution. Their efforts certainly paid off: The print shop partner is now firmly established in the in-mould print sector.
