A good outlook
All roads lead to Rome, many roads lead to Siegwerk. Anyone who wishes to get a taste of the company can do so, even as a student in school. Many of the country organizations offer internships for school students. No matter whether they were interested in work in the office or the laboratory, in production or logistics, many a career was sparked by a couple of weeks internship.
Training vacancies for school leavers are offered by Siegwerk Druckfarben AG & Co. KGaA at the company’s Siegburg location. These differentiate between commercial careers scenarios such as industrial management training and technical trade professions. The range of offers in the latter includes typical chemistry-oriented training courses such as chemical technician, as general professions such as electrical engineer for automation engineering.
It is also possible to work for a few weeks at Siegwerk after school, for example before or during university studies. So-called working students are highly welcome, especially to stand in for staff who are on leave during the vacation period. The contacts for information on these jobs are the country organizations or the central Human Resources department as well. It is also possible to write a diploma thesis as the culmination of a study course with Siegwerk.
Three separate dual study courses are offered by Siegwerk. Training for industrial engineers and industrial computer scientists is given in cooperation with the “Nordakademie” near the city of Hamburg. It is also possible to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management or a Chamber of Industry and Commerce qualification in Logistics Management at the European University of Applied Sciences in Brühl.
The International Trainee Program offers an exciting introduction to a successful professional career. The program takes 18 months, subdivided into several project phases. At least one module among the diverse options takes place overseas. The international trainee program is individually adapted to the needs of the respective trainees. The “regular” project work is suitably complemented by various training sessions. Some of the topics covered include time management, intercultural communication, negotiation techniques and conflict management. The program also contains supplementary options such as change management, self-awareness and personality development, creativity techniques and quality management.
Executive managers are generally recruited by Siegwerk from personnel consultants or via the standard online services. The vacant posts are occasionally advertised in major daily newspapers.
Indispensable job requirements are wide-ranging experience in an international working environment and several years of management experience. Chemists are preferentially recruited, but engineers and business economists are also sought. Holding an MBA is always of advantage.
